MegaFon, OFD.RU offer solution for online cash register machines

MOSCOW, Jun 27 (PRIME) -- Russian mobile operator MegaFon has teamed up with operator of fiscal data OFD.RU to offer a comprehensive solution for work with online cash register machines, which will transfer data to the Federal Tax Service online to comply with the law in force from Saturday, spokespeople for the companies told reporters on Tuesday.

MegaFon and OFD.RU’s solution was tested by ArenaFoods Catering, a part of local cafe chain Shokoladnitsa, at soccer matches at the Otkritie Arena stadium in Moscow. In December 2016, ArenaFoods Catering won a FIFA tender to service all 80 matches of the Confederations Cup and the World Cup, which Russia hosts in 2017–2018.

“About 340 cash register machines worked for fans, and more than 60 catering points were organized with up to 900 employees engaged. During a match that lasted for three–four hours, 60–70 transactions were carried out per employee. More experienced sellers processed up to 150 transactions. Peak loading was registered an hour and a half before the event and 20 minutes after its end. The maximum speed of sellers’ work was one–two orders a minute,” Shokoladnitsa’s Managing Director Mikhail Zolotovitsky told reporters.

MegaFon ensures trouble-free Internet connection for online cash register machines, and the solution comprises a SIM card supporting fiscal data transfer; a machine-to-machine platform for control and management; and a special tariff with a monthly fee of 100 rubles, which includes a limitless number of digital receipts.

OFD.RU, which is affiliated to MegaFon via a common shareholder USM Holdings, is in charge of the transfer of data to the tax authority, while cash register machines are provided by local producer Nilstar.

When a buyer purchases goods, a cash register machine prints a receipt with a digital one available on demand via an SMS or e-mail. Transaction data are transferred by MegaFon to the operator of fiscal data, which hands it to the Federal Tax Service.

Under the law, all companies using cash register machines must transfer data on operations online via accredited operators of fiscal data starting from Saturday.

“The joint solution of MegaFon and OFD.RU can be used at any massive event of any mood and scale. It suits any cash register solutions from the Federal Tax Service’s list,” OFD.RU’s Commercial Director Yekaterina Nikolayeva said.

Svetlana Sysoyeva, head of corporate business development at MegaFon’s Moscow branch, said the mobile operator offers “comprehensive and ready solutions that help business evolve, cut expenses, and raise revenue.”

“We highly value the potential of the ‘smart’ cash register machine market. We expect the share of cash machines equipped with SIM cards at 30% by the end of 2017 and 70% by the end of 2018. We foresee this growth judging by production volumes, planned by big manufacturers of cash register machines,” Sysoyeva said.
